Morituri te salutant is not only an multiplayer fight game. It is much more than that. This project seeks to create a community of fighters. All facing death. All enemies. Each one of them, depicting their lanista family (gladiators coaches), and seeks to succeed. Climbing levels, to draw a unique life history of fighting. You have the opportunity to create the greatest live feats in the history of Morituri te salutant.

We are in the golden age of the fights on the sand. One age where two faced men, were able to attract thousands of people. In the sand, naked and only with a gladius and a shield, the gladiators used to fight for their lifes, seeking acceptance from the public.

"Morituri te salutant", it was the sentence that the gladiators used to say before the fight. Then, loneliness. Sword by sword, hit to hit, wound to wound, a lot of gladiators died. But others, victory to victory, they used to become in gods. They were able to unimaginable feats. Blood, sweat and fire.

This project wants to pick up the baton of such brutal and epic austere times. We will convert Morituri te salutant in a realistic game and full of glory. No more impossible fights. No more magic. No more superhuman movements.

Now and here are your gladiators. Your enemies are still out there, waiting you. Real players. Like you. With the same objectives. They want to remain in the memories of Morituri te salutant. Fight against them and write a legend. An unique epic history to be the greatest lanista of the empire.

TitRome

On the beginning, like a lanista and novice gladiator, we will start fighting in the local amphitheater, around the regions of the the province we have selected to start playing. From here, while we win fights, generation by generation, we will go expanding our fame along the all empire.

Morituri te salutant works like a persistent world. It never ends. You will have fight during generations for the glory of your lanista family.

 

TitDie

In Morituri you don´t die always in the fights. Yoy will can choose if you want that the combat will be to death on not. The PRIMUS is the battle where both lanista have agreed that they will fight to death. This fight takes place on sunset and it is the last event of the day.

With this way, we can decide the risk of the battle. But, the fame that you win in a PRIMUS is unmatched. The public likes the death fights. And if we win in a beautiful combat, our glory will grow up very fastly.

You also can lost the fight. But if we have fought good. If we have been brave and audacious, the public will forgive us our life. Maybe they able to clap us and that our glory will grow up despite having lost..

Although you can lost and die. In this case, you would can lose a lot of invested time in this warrior. Will you  risk?

 

TitNobodyis

Since they are created, your gladiators go adding years combat by combat. And you will see how they are getting older. Their anatomy will go changing little by little.

When they are younger, they are more faster and little weaker. With years they will becoming stronger. And when they passed their best years, they are going lose, little by little, their speed. With certain age, if they have not died before, they will retire automatically.

When you have high level like lanista, and our gladiators have enough level, we will can access to fight in amphitheaters where our gladiators will can win the wood sword. When this happens, this gladiator is free. From this moment, we are free to retire this gladiator. And from this moment, the gladiator will win more money and fame with each combat.

Nobody is eternal except lanista family.

 

TitFight

We are trying to create a great challenge. A concept of gameplay which is very interesant for us but complex to develop. There wont be predefined combos. Nothing magic. There wont be "combat experience", "force", "intelligence",... This is the combat system that we have choosen.

We are going to make real combats! Or that is our hope :D. Create a espectacular fight based on the learn and strategy. In the "time" of the blows and decisions. And only this way will do that you grow up like a warrior in Morituri te salutant.

 

"In Morituri, the battles are hard and austere. Based in fights of body to body.

Without much literature, but very epic. Everything is based on "time". In the good coordination

of the times blow after blow. You prepare trap movements to deceive the enemy. And you have to predict his movements...

We want to create a simple combat system, that should not be very complicated to learn, but with a lot of variants and possibilities for fighting.

The lifebar is also a reflection of this reality. In one only bar, we have the life and the energy. If we do a big effort or we receive a strong hit, our life will down like our energy. If we rest a little, our life/energy bar will grow up again, but no until the same position if we have received a blow.

Feel you the bellow of the public with your only presence? Each blow and defense is a clamor? You know that you are loved by the public? This is the key of the game. The glory.

Morituri te salutant is designed to analyze how you are fighting in real time. You feel how the public reacts to your combats with claps, contempt, boredom, indifference,... Among the many nuances, your glory can up or down. You can win or lost. Just depends on you and what you will do on the sand.

From this basis, we construct all the score system for the gladiators, lanista and schools. The glory indicates your level like warrior. Although a slump of fights can sink you and down fame of your family. Once you taste sweetness of the Coliseum, is not easy breathing the grungy air of the local dumps.

 

TitEquipate

You not only earn glory fighting on the sand. You also earn money. A lot! And one thing you can do with this money is equip your gladiators. You can buy weapons and protections in the blacksmith.

These equipments are now owned by the family. You can use with different gladiators for generations.

But be aware that damage. Through the fighting, weapons will break and you have to repair them continuously.

 

TitGuerrerosLegen

Would you like to have your own hall of fame? It is one of the some original concepts that you will find in Morituri te salutant. If our gladiators achieve a great deeds and exceptional victories, or one of them can beat any great record, he should have a place on the hall of fame of the school.

Its name is "The hall of the busts", and here, there will be the more important warriors along the history of this school. They are a part of our history, and a lot of them will bring to our school more fame and glory.

 

 

TitCiudad

In the beginning of the Morituri te salutant, the first thing that we have to do is select the city where we will construct our school. The city of the empire can harbor very high fame schools, and they will bring us little privileges.

Our gladiators will have a little plus of glory. But be careful. There are cities with big glory that they are declining.

There will be three types of cities: The city, The famous city and The legendary city. The state of the city will defined by the glory of its members. Can be a lot of players in one city, and the sum of them will mark the level of glory.

The members of the city will can train together, improving their combat capabilities. And between all try that their city will be the best over others.

Morituri is an individual and team fight. A tense calm. Conducive to the blood in the sand.

 

TitMake

Be a legend. The sword of wood. A dangerous philosophy of live. The glory will define the most of things that you could make in Morituri te salutant. But, above this, the glory will define who you are. Generation by generation of good combats will grow up your fame, allowing you fight along all the empire.

The fame. The glory is all in this game. It will mark your position like warrior and master of gladiators in the universe of Morituri te salutant.

TitProvincia

Maybe you are a noob in the arts of fight. But all begins here. In the dirty corners of the province. With little audience to impress, is the moment to combat on the mud. Hard ground. But everything begins here. In the local amphitheaters. A lot of effort and a bit of coins. Little glory. But everything may be changed. And depend of you...

Maybe your gladiators begin fighting like slaves. Bleeding and losing rewarding warriors. But if you win combats brightly, no take long to fight in the provincial amphitheatres. From here, you might get to fight in city and capital amphitheaters in front of thousand of people.

As our reputation grows, the amphitheaters will be increasingly full. We will seek famous opponents to fight in front of their audience. We will use the fame of the enemy to grow our fame. Win brightly against the greatest opponents is the fastest way to grow our glory. The Colosseum. The dream. The destiny of all the great lanista families.

 

TitPasosLanista

Like his gladiators, the lanista have to increase his glory. His glory is based in the fights of his gladiators. You are a lanista and you are a gladiator in the same game.

You have to learn to fight correctly and gratify the audience. That is the key. The difference between to be good or to be great. If your gladiators increase their fame, more glory for the lanista. And, in the same way, when the fame of lanista is big, more great will be the glory of his gladiators.

The glory of the lanista family will mark the initial level of the gladiators. If the lanista is famous, his warriors wont have to begin to fight in the low level local amphitheaters.

We have to increase the fame level of our lanista family. This will open the doors of the amphitheaters with more level. With this, we will earn more glory and money. By this way we could arrive to the elite of the lanistas. The key to fight in the Coliseum.
